Al Qadsia set up an all-Kuwaiti AFC Cup final with a 1-0 second-leg victory over Al Faisaly in Amman on Tuesday.
Saleh Al Sheikh scored the only goal of the game to secure a 3-1 aggregate win and make sure of their second appearance in the final, where they will face defending champions Al Kuwait.
Both sides had their chances before midfielder Al Sheikh silenced the home supporters with a clinical finish after great work from Saif Al Hashan.
And there was no way back for Al Faisaly, who have not reached the AFC Cup final since 2007.
The visitors were without leading scorer Bader Al Mutwa after he sustained a foot injury playing for Kuwait against Jordan earlier this month.
And Omar Al Suma failed to show the sort of composure that Al Mutwa has displayed when he raced through on goal after 13 minutes, only to be denied by goalkeeper Mohamad Shatnawi.
Ra’ed Fraih was presented with an opportunity to level the tie on aggregate just after the half-hour mark, but he headed straight at goalkeeper Nawaf Al Khaldi.
Shatnawi then had to be alert to keep out striker Omar Al Soma’s effort with a spectacular save, and Al Soma had another chance shortly after when he made space for himself but fired his shot over the crossbar.
But the visitors gave themselves breathing space 12 from time and they were indebted to a sublime piece of skill from Al Hashan.
The midfielder outfoxed two Al Faisaly players with some brilliant footwork just outside the penalty area that resulted in the ball being laid into the path of Al Sheikh, who found the back of the net with a sweetly struck right-foot finish.
Al Qadsia then saw out the game and will get the chance to go one better than in 2010, when they were beaten on penalties by Syrian side Al Ittihad in the final.
