Atletico Madrid are set to announce a new contract for goalkeeper Jan Oblak, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on that Oblak’s new deal will see him commit his future to the former La Liga champions until June 2025, and that the goalkeeper will get a pay rise.
Romano has added that Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone was keen for Oblak to stay at the club, and that he wants the contract situation of the 29-year-old Slovenia international to be resolved before the start of the new season. Romano has added that it is only a matter of time before an announcement of a new deal for Oblak is announced soon.

Oblak has been on the books of Atletico since 2014 and has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. During his time at the Madrid club so far, the Slovenian has won the La Liga and the UEFA Europa League once each and also reached the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2015-16.
